Scarf in 90% wool and 10% silk, hand woven on a hand loom: petrol blue, aqua and navy madras check on a pearl gray ground. Size 70 x 180 cm (28 x 71 in).

Madras takes its name from the city of Madras, today Chennai, in southern India, famous for its brightly colored check fabrics. In this scarf the checks are not printed: they are created on a hand loom, thread by thread, by crossing colored warp and weft. It is the freshest of the four: the blues and aqua on a very light gray recall a winter sea. The fabric is light and airy, and against the light you can see the weave. We work directly with the weavers in India, with no middlemen, and visit their workshops in person.
